The origin of “Humankind” began with the Lord
God Almighty creating Adam out of the dust of the
earth. “And God said, Let us make man in our
image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion
over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air,
and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and ovr
every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth”
Genesis 1:26 | View whole chapter | See verse in context. God who formed the creature out the ground breathed the breath of life into his nostrils and man became a living soul. Genesis 2:7 | View whole chapter | See verse in context.
Man became a living soul when God breathed the breath of life into his nostrils. The soul is that which feels, it is the seat of all emotions, passions, appetites and desires. The soul of a person is what God & Lucifer wars over to control. It is the battleground of things pertaining to the flesh (body) and the intellect (spirit).
If the soul at the time of death is full of evil, lust, wicked desires & passions, it is hell bound. Opposite of this, if that soul is full of righteousness, holy desires & appetites, then it will ascend to heaven. However, this is accomplished by the new-birth through calling on and accepting Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, bring washed by his blood.
